Generally, the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa has three (3) options, which are:
- Temporary Residence Transition stream (‘TRT‘)
- Direct Entry stream (‘DE‘)
- Labour Agreement stream
Basic Eligibility (TRT)
Firstly, the business will need to:
- be a lawfully operating business
- offer a skilled position that is full-time and ongoing for at least two years
- pay the Skilling Australians Fund (SAF)
- business’ annual turnover of less than $10M – $3,000 one-off
- business’ annual turnover of $10M or more – $5,000 one-off
- nominate a position and occupation which is the same as the position and occupation nominated for the granted Temporary Skill Shortage visa (482) (482 Visa)
- show a ‘Genuine Need‘ for the position
- pay the skilled worker at least the market rate for the nominated position
Secondly, the skilled worker will need to:
- be less than 45 years of age when applying unless an age exemption applies
- have worked for at least three out of the last four years, while holding a 482 Visa, in the same occupation with the sponsor business
- demonstrate that the skilled worker holds the licences and registrations necessary to work in the nominated occupation
- show Competent English; no English exemption applies

Firstly, the business will need to:
- be a lawfully operating business
- offer a skilled position that is full-time and ongoing for at least two years
- pay the Skilling Australians Fund (SAF)
- business’ annual turnover of less than $10M – $3,000 one-off
- business’ annual turnover of $10M or more – $5,000 one-off
- nominate a position on the Medium and Long‑term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) (section 7 of Instrument LIN19/049)
- show a ‘Genuine Need‘ for the position
- pay the skilled worker at least the market rate for the nominated position
Secondly, the skilled worker will need to:
- be less than 45 years of age when applying unless an age exemption applies
- be employed in a position on Medium and Long‑term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) (section 7 of Instrument LIN19/049)
- show at least three years relevant work experience in the nominated occupation
- have a skills assessment that shows they have the skills to work in the nominated position
- show that the skilled worker holds the licences and registrations necessary to work in the nominated occupation
- show Competent English; no English exemption applies
